Andrew Traub ’78, Bob Neiman ’62, and Kim Morgan, CEO, of United Way of Western Connecticut

In January 2018, United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) held its annual Stamford Volunteer Day awards ceremony. Bob Neiman ’62 and Andrew Traub ’78 received UWWC’s Impact Award for their work on the Stamford Cradle to Career (SC2C) project during 2017. In her introduction to the award, United Way’s coordinator for the project, Mara Siladi, thanked Bob and Andrew for their leadership and guidance – and characterized their approach to the project as “relentless”.

“I can say that we would not have moved as comprehensively and rapidly as we have without their guidance and leadership. They support the executive level work of the initiative through countless hours of meetings and documenting and organizing the movement along with the backbone staff.”

Speakers on the program included the Honorable David Martin, Mayor of Stamford, who paid tribute to the collective strength of nonprofits in the City and particularly their volunteers, whom he thanked on  behalf of the City. He noted how many times he was able to refer to a nonprofit when someone came to him with a question about how to meet a social service challenge.
